Javier Gomez

Sr. Site Director Operations for Electrophysiology at Abbott
Javier Gomez joined Abbott in 2009 as a general manager for the start-up of the Costa Rica Site, Cardiovascular division (legacy St. Jude Medical). He assumed his current role as senior site director operations, Electrophysiology Division, Costa Rica, in Jan 2017. Currently, the local EP business is composed of 3,400 employees and exports 17 different products to the world, fully manufactured in Costa Rica. In his more than 30 years of industry experience, Gomez has also held positions at Baxter Healthcare, Intel Corporation, Chiquita Brands International, and Hologic, including various engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing/engineering operations management roles, as well as, green-field site start-up and project management roles. Gomez attended North Dakota State University and received his BS in Industrial Engineering and Management. He also attended Texas Tech University, where he received his MS in Industrial Engineering with an emphasis in Quality Assurance.
